About the LMTA Foundation

The LMTA Foundation is the charitable arm of the Louisiana Motor Transport Association.

Our mission is to enhance the understanding of and image of the Louisiana trucking industry, increase highway safety and pursue workforce solutions for the industry.

The Louisiana Trucking Education and Research Council is made up of trucking companies and stakeholders across the state of Louisiana.

The Council represents different types of trucking companies, different sizes of trucking companies, the geographic areas of the state and the diversity just as you would see in trucking companies.

Established in 2013

The LMTA Foundation was established in 2013 as a non-profit organization to fund education, public relations and research projects for the Louisiana trucking industry. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors and is an all-volunteer organization. The mission is to enhance the understanding of and image of the Louisiana trucking industry, increase highway safety, and pursue workforce solutions for the industry. This webpage exists to assist and promote public engagement with the Council as it conducts its work pursuant to Act 314 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session.  Meeting notices and other documents will be available here.
