2021 Truck Driver Appreciation Week

When the world stopped, truckers kept it moving!

Celebrated annually, this year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week runs from September 12-18, 2021 and takes on a special meaning due to the heroic role truck drivers took on during the COVID-19 pandemic. Professional truck drivers stepped up when they were needed most and have kept the economy on its feet despite facing unprecedented obstacles. When the world stopped, truckers kept it moving!

The LMTA Foundation will be marking Louisiana's Truck Driving Appreciation Week by shipping appreciation kits to participating companies. At this time we have allocated over 1400 driver appreciation kits to companies throughout the state and are no longer able to take requests for kits.

Please note that the LMTA Foundation will be distributing kits on a first come, first served basis; kit contents and quantities are subject to change. Only companies who employ drivers are eligible for kits. Allied business companies (i.e. insurance, equipment, dealers, etc.) will not be shipped kits.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding appreciation kits, please email LMTA Executive Director Renee Amar (renee@lmta.la).

Driver Kits Include:

  • (1) LA Truck Driving Appreciation Shirt
  • (1) LA Truck Driving Appreciation Hat
  • (1) Driver Appreciation Magnet

We ask that companies who receive an appreciation kit share pictures of your drivers with the materials and the hashtag #ThankALouisianaTrucker

Celebrate 2021 Truck Driver Appreciation Week with us!

The LMTA and LMTA Foundation are proud to provide all those in the industry with our Louisiana Truck Driver Appreciation online toolkit. Included are sample press releases, op-ed and letters to the editor. We invite all those within Louisiana's trucking industry to share these with their local news outlets so that we remind all Louisianians that when the world stopped, truckers kept it moving!

This year we have also shared our social media resource kit, with artwork for your company to share on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and any other platforms you may have! The kit also includes templates of text that can be personalized to your business. Help us by posting your drivers with the hashtag #ThankALouisianaTrucker so we can have our industry visible to citizens across the state.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding media or social media toolkits, please email LMTA Communications Director Allison Strahan (allison@lmta.la).
